Metropolitan State Hospital was a dirty, smelly, creepy place which, despite being quite close to home, I never fully explored. I went many times, but unfortunately never saw the entire tunnel system or every building. Some of the highlights of my trips here include waiting for an hour while state police and security buzzed the campus before sprinting in to one of the buildings just in time to avoid a torrential downpour, and a trip during the renovation of the campus in which we used a bit of social engineering to get into the buildings. There is much history here, which I would eventually like to include in my writeup, but it will always be remembered for all the craziness that happened here after it was abandoned as well.
