There are so many shows and accounts of the history of Alcatraz, it feels silly to try to provide yet another one here so I will let the pictures speak for themselves.
Despite having been to San Francisco many times, I had never been to Alcatraz. When my wife and I started our pan-California road trip in the summer of 2014 I figured it was finally time. She may have preferred that I visited prior to her being with me – not because she didn’t enjoy it, but because I was deep in the “photo coma” the entire time I was there. It was also extremely busy so it took a ton of waiting to bring the “desolate” into my photos.
