My 5th trip to Northampton State Hospital finally led me to the morgue. It was located in a dark corridor in the basement underneath the main cafeteria which you could only get to through the theater, and I had never been able to find it despite knowing the general location.
One of my regrets about Northampton is not taking more time to explore the basement. At the time, my interest in photography vastly outweighed my interest in exploration and I figured there was probably not much more to see down there in the dark. While true, in retrospect I wish I had taken more time to see everything I could possibly see. There were some areas with notoriously squishy floors that I also avoided, but I wish I had at least taken some time to see if I could find a reasonably stable path through.
