Northville Regional Psychiatric Hospital

April 23, 2020

The COVID crisis has given me some time to make progress on posting all of the pictures and locations from my days of exploring abandoned buildings. Getting all of the material online is something I really want to accomplish, but don’t make enough time to work on. For the most part, I backdate my posts…

Fore River Shipyard – 2011 – 2012

December 30, 2018

Fore River Shipyard began operations in 1883. In 1913, it was purchased by Bethlehem Steel. Its final owner, General Dynamics, purchased the yard in 1963 and eventually ceased operations in 1986. Most of the ships the yard worked on were Navy ships. My father actually worked here for a time doing some engineering work, so…

Buffalo State Hospital – July 13, 2013

December 29, 2018

We made a second trip to Buffalo State to do another tour just a couple of months after our first visit to Buffalo State Hospital.

Buffalo State Hospital – May 5, 2013 – Set 2

December 29, 2018

During our first visit to Buffalo State we got very lucky. Naturally, after the tour ended I was asking about getting more time to photograph (which I would be more than happy to pay for), etc. Christine, the absolutely fantastic person in charge of operations at the Richardson Olmsted Complex indicated that I would really…

Rich Kimble – Toe Up

January 8, 2017

Rich is a fantastic artist I had worked with previously for an album cover for It’s Good to Be Rich.  He wanted some more promotional photos to represent his work and I was excited to work with him again.  Rich likes my style of photography, so he is really easy to work with!  He also…

Turks and Caicos & The Wreck of форт-шевченко

February 8, 2016

In February of 2016 my wife and I finally decided to go somewhere tropical and outside of the U.S. We stayed at a nice resort on Grace Bay Beach.  The rooms were super nice, the drinks were super expensive, and the water was super warm. When we go somewhere, we tend to rent a Jeep.…

Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital – Trip 1

September 12, 2012

Much to my chagrin, I have never explored the Kirkbride building at Greystone. Too much drama and too many legal hassles have surrounded it in recent years, and the rewards were far outstripped by the risk. I have been told by those that have been inside that the outbuildings on campus were really the best…
