I have been resisting making this post, hoping that things would work out, but clearly nothing is going to come together for me.

So, yea, my motherboard is dead for the second time this year. I overnighted it back to the manufacturer who told me that it would be in my hands 2 or 3 days after they received it but unfortunately that was just a gigantic lie. DFI shipped it using standard shipping, which puts the motherboard back at my house while I am on vacation so it will most likely wind up back at their offices. This is not the worst thing since, based on what they told me, I seriously doubt that they actually resolved the problem. All of my photography resides on a RAID array which I cannot connect to my laptop, so I am pretty much SOL in terms of posting photos, editing photos, or even clearing off my memory cards.

All of this comes on the heels of a long string of (admittedly minor in the grand scheme of things) personal disasters and electronics malfunctions and it has all left me extremely depressed and creatively drained. I am on the verge of going on vacation and now cannot even use my 5D to shoot with, because I can't clear card space.

The bottom line is that DM is not going to be updated for a while. I have a dearth of new shots and locations to post and really had no intention of taking a hiatus from the site. I think my longest stint without a post was probably a week since I started the site and I worked pretty hard to generate the traffic that I was getting. Anyway, all of that is out the window now and there's absolutely nothing I can do about it. At the moment I feel like just deleting the entire site and selling my camera equipment but Im sure that won't happen and the site will be back in action again as soon as I can work through all of this. I may just go out and spend a fortune on film to shoot over the next couple of weeks, which might not be the worst thing.

Anyway, thanks to everyone who visits the site and I hope you stick with me until I get everything up and running again.
