Wait, I've been there.. or maybe it was just in Fallout3.
Very nice capture, it truly conveys the desolate feeling of the place! And I even didn't notice the fisheye right away.

I came across your site thru digg, and found your images very nice to look at. I get a feeling of despair from looking at them and feel as if I have walked right into a movie with some. I am not done looking through your stuff, but have you been to New Orleans to some of the areas devastated by Katrina? I am sure you would find solace there for your camera. beautiful images you have, thanks for sharing them.

Once a thriving neighborhood, the area surrounding Jane Cooper Elementary is now a wasteland with blocks of abandoned houses having been demolished.

I had seen pictures of this place online and desperately wanted to visit despite it being known as a particularly sketchy location. It bears mentioning that there is a well-maintained and prosperous factory operating behind the school, but I don't think that fact takes away from the tragic appearance of this neighborhood one bit. I think this place typifies what has happened and IS happening in Detroit right now. A once great city, a city that literally built this country, is not only falling to ruin, but is, in fact, being erased from the surface of the earth...piece by piece.
