The pure white of the church against its darker surrounding is really quite nice. The perspective here adds a lot of interest. Almost 'Beetlejuice' looking, though I don't understand exactly how it came to be. Beautiful and interesting shot that I've stared at for some time now!
I am also wondering about the perspective, how did you do that? Isn't typical wide-angle fairly straight in the center but more pronounced distortion on the edges? But never mind the technical stuff, it works great!
Thanks guys. This is Tri-X 400 shot with my Canon EOS 3. The lens is my EF 16-35L, shot most probably at 16mm.
In terms of the distortion, it's a pretty good lens so you won't see too much barrel distortion. The perspective is a bit distorted as you can see in the buildings.
I don't think I did any perspective correction on this, though. Once in a while I will correct a photo that I think needs it, but if I remember right this is more or less straight out of the camera.
