Wow...love the textures here! Great contrast and light. Very beautiful shot!
Good title. that floor looks like under construction. like the columns.
Nice lines and perspective.
That looks exactly like the photos of the building I live in from when they started renovating it.
I haven't been commenting but your photos of this train station are awesome. Been meaning to ask, too: do you ever see any copper thieves when you're "exploring"? Around here they can be pretty violent people. Just about everything has razor wire around it...Dallas looks like a war zone. Detroit's economy is so bad maybe all the copper was gone years ago, though?
Hi Dustin,
Thanks for commenting. In response to your question, we definitely do come across evidence of scrappers (copper thieves) when we explore. I have been lucky not to run across them in person (though many people have run into them...some are nicer than others) but we see the cut pipes and piles of asbestos insulation all the times.
Virtually any tunnel you enter is going to have big piles of asbestos insulation all over the ground from people cutting pipes. It's a HUGE problem for the owners of these properties because the value is so high. It definitely has the potential of causing problems for explorers as there is more justification for money spent on security because of the huge salvage value of the copper.

It is apparently unclear why the decision was made to build 18 floors on top of the main train station, since only 13 of them were ever finished. The top 5 floors remain empty.
Very sad..and a little scarey space. Love how you've captured the rows of columns and the light filtering in thru the windows. Nice composition.
