Nice decay.

What kind of protective equipment, if any, do you take exploring?

Thanks for all your comments SD!

I take a respirator with me for situations just like this. I wouldn't want to walk around in this particular tunnel without it. I've also come across a lot of moldy locations and locations that just plain smell bad, and I like having the respirator for that.

i almost got really sick in these tunnels sometime around 2002. in one isolated area my friends said they started to feel nauseous, then all of the sudden my eyes hurt and i felt like i was about to fall over. needless to say we ran outside and got some fresh air and avoided that area.

That's super sketchy. The only problem I had there was looking at all the asbestos lying around. I'll have to watch out for that if I return...sounds like chlorine or something...

Friable Tunnel

The tunnels between the buildings at this state school were massive and seemed to stretch on forever. To look at the campus from outside did not betray the size of the tunnel network waiting below. The tunnels were also filled with asbestos used to insulate the pipes which ran through them. Most of the material seemed to be broken off and lying on the floor, making this abandonment particularly hazardous to explore.
